BEFORE WE GET STARTED…
Thank you so much for your support and help!! It seriously means so much to us on the Two Tacos & a Hike team!
This week we are featuring:
This Saturday, an event that happens once every year
the night the ice rink is cheaper than a normal public skate
an arcade where every game costs a nickel

THREE DATES, TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS TOTAL
Norse Code

Festival · free
Viking Day Festival takes over Downtown Park in Pleasant Grove on Saturday, October 10, from 10 AM to 5 PM, and it is free to attend. Local vendors, food trucks, live music, and a strongman competition (idk what that is but if you know, lmk). Pleasant Grove tells you to come dressed in your fiercest Viking garb, or not, either is fine.
Go before noon. The music and the strongman heats both land in the middle of the day, and the parking near 200 South Main fills outward from the park. If either of you runs, the Run Like a Viking 5K goes off from the same park at 8 AM.
Ask on the way out of something you were both already at, because you can say it in ten seconds and keep walking. Lead with the strongman competition (maybe she’s into that??).
When you see them in person, say: “I’m driving up to a Viking thing in Pleasant Grove Saturday morning. There’s an actual strongman competition. You free Saturday morning?”
Clean Sweep

Broomball · $12-18
Peaks Ice Arena at 100 North Seven Peaks Boulevard runs a public skate session for college-age patrons only, Friday nights from 10 PM to midnight. It is $6 each to skate and the rentals are included, $6 each for broom ball, or $9 if you want both. Broom ball is where you stay in your regular shoes, no skates, and chase a ball around the ice with a broom.
The ordinary public skate is $6 plus $4 for rentals, so the college session is the cheaper one, and it is the only one that goes to midnight.
Text them and say: “This is kind of random, but there’s a college skate night at Peaks Friday at ten p.m. I’ve got you covered if you want to come?”
Featured Single: Get Your Own Card

We’ll feature you as a single in an upcoming issue, using your photo and a few lines about you, so other readers can reach out and ask you out, all for $5. Think a one-person profile card that goes to the whole list instead of doom scrolling on Mutual.
How it works:
(1) Venmo $5 to me, @hamiltonpr,
(2) reply to this email with a photo, your first name, age, year and major, what you are looking for, and how you want people to reach you.
A No Is Information

Rejection · BYU Daily Universe
The BYU Daily Universe talked to students about Mutual’s speed dating nights, and one of them, Skyler Ludlow, said something pretty cool (I think): ”even if people aren’t interested, at least you get the knowledge that they’re not interested so you can move on mentally or emotionally.” Use that advice on the Peaks card above, and don’t sweat it. You got this.
All For “a Nickel”

Arcade · $13-20
Nickel City is at 1515 South State Street in Orem, and the name is not a joke: every game in the arcade runs on actual nickels (maybe more than one but that’s besides the point). Admission is $2.50 each. Laser tag is $4 for your first game and $3 for every game after, and City Pizzeria is inside if the night runs long.
Call them and say: “I’m going to Nickel City Friday and I’m going to beat you at skee ball. Are you down?”
Here is a dare.
Ask someone to the Viking thing just as you’re walking around TODAY. You might not even know her. Just send it with someone random, the worst that happens is she says no.
And then….

From the Editor
Thanks for making it to the bottom.
Twenty five dollars, three dates, and one of them has a strongman competition in it. I have no notes.

Until next time,
